Dr. Brian A. Irving joins the University of Virginia as Professor of Exercise Physiology and Director of the TEMPO@UVA Laboratory, and as an affiliate of the Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center at the UVA School of Medicine.
The multi-site randomized SWIFT Trial comparing prior bariatric surgery to immediate total knee arthroplasty in patients with severe obesity and advanced knee osteoarthritis is published in the Journal of Arthroplasty.
Dr. Irving completed a Visiting Scientist residency at Oroboros Instruments in Innsbruck, Austria, contributing to NextGen O2k method development and delivering an invited talk on immunoenergetics and exercise at the OroW174 workshop.
